The Elwood Volunteer Fire Company is one of four companies of the Mullica Twp Fire Department. We are joined by, Nesco, Sweetwater, and Weekstown Fire Compaines. Mullica Twp is located in Atlantic County , New Jersey.

MVA 2nd rd & 8th street in Hammonton

The Hammonton Fire and Rescue Squad were called to this 2 vehicle crash at 2nd rd & 8th street on July 2nd at 7:50pm.  The driver of one vehicle was entrapped rescue crews used the jaws of life to remove the victim. One person was transported to Kessler Hospital.

The Atlantic County Tanker Task Force Drill

The Elwood Fire Company Hosted the Atlantic County Tanker Task Force Drill on Sunday June 28th at 8:00am.  Apparatus from 13 fire departments responded to the Carpenter's Training Center on Rt 30 in Mullica Twp.  10 Tankers and 3 pumpers carrying 32,500 gallons of water and transported over 100,000 gallons of water in 1hr 50mins.

**New Pictures** Incident #48 06/19/2009 at 11:27am - 3506 Reading Ave for a Vehicle Fire

The Mullica Police released these photos of the vehicle fire on 6/19/09.

Fully involved tow truck in a driveway near a house. Sweetwater & Hammonton were called to assist but were recalled after engine 16-3 arrived and extinguished the fire.

Incident #50 06/26/2009 at 2:34pm - Rt 30 Near Warton Park Blvd for a MVA w/entrapment

Rescue 16-4 and Engine 16-3 responded and popped the passenger side door and assisted with traffic. One person was transported to Kessler Hospital in Hammonton by Hammonton Rescue. The Hammonton Fire Company also responded with an Engine for man power.

Mullica residents, Officer Paul Rivera and Kimberly Butterhof, were honored tonight by Mullica Township Mayor Janet Forman and Detective Sgt. John Thompson of the Mullica Township Police Department for their heroic, life saving roles in near drowning rescue of a local boy.

Incident #49 06/20/2009 at 5:30pm - Rt 30 Near The State Police Lab for a MVA Pole Down

Station 160 was called to Rt 30 near the State Police Lab for an MVA with a Pole down at 5:30pm June 20th 2009. On arrival Chief 1600 found a vehicle leaking gasoline and still running. Engine 16-3 arrived and made the car safe and stood by with a charged line until the vehicle was removed. Tanker 16-5 and Support 16-1 assisted with traffic. One person was transported to Kessler Hospital in Hammonton with serous injuries. Power was out to a large section of Rt 30 for about 2hrs. All Elwood units were clear at 6:36pm.
